    For photographs, JPG is usually several times smaller than PNG with no visible difference at high quality.

What happens to transparency when converting PNG to JPG?

JPG doesn’t support transparency, so transparent areas are filled with a solid color. White is used by default, and you can choose another color before converting.

Will PNG to JPG reduce quality?

JPG is lossy, so some fine detail is simplified. At 90% quality this is rarely visible in photos, but sharp text and thin lines can show slight blur or halos.

Is JPG or WebP better than PNG for my website?
